Has Disney fallen for FALLEN?

Disney has optioned rights to "Fallen," a young-adult novel by Lauren Kate that features angels, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Mark Ciardi and Gordon Gray will produce through their Mayhem Productions.

The book, released this week by Delacorte Books for Young Readers, is part of a four-novel series, all of which were included in the deal.

Hmm interesting, although I haven't read Fallen I've read mixed reviews of it so I'd be interested in seeing what Disney did with it.
I love your funniez! This one is so true, especially (for me) when I'm writing a comment on a book review and I stop and realize I could use the comment on my own review!
I love Bites, Donna is hysterical and so sarcastic, it's wonderful :)

I'm just wondering how Disney could make a good movie out of this book...

Here is my take of Fallen: http://www.cherrymischievous.com/2009/11/fallen-by-lauren-kate_23.html
And I was feeling generous when I reviewed it because I had the book for free.

I really wasn't impressed with the book but doesn't it seem like these movies companies are jumping on the first YA's they can get that show a little promise?
