Book Chat: Rereads

As I was unpacking my books, I began thinking about why I keep them.  Originally, I kept ones I thought I would reread.  Now I think it is more about love of the author, signed copies and beautiful covers.  I have never actually reread ANY of the books on my shelf.  I am not sure if I ever will.  There are just too many exciting titles coming out to have the time to reread.

Have you reread any of the books on your shelf?
 If so, which ones?

I like to re-read. I have read my Vorkosigan books by Lois McMaster Bujold and my Liaden Universe books by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller too many times to count. There are many others in my collection that I have kept because I planned to read them again some day.

I reread a ton of old favorites...Sorcery and Cecelia, old familiar classics...I have a couple of shelves devoted to when I want to reread.
By the way - LOVE your new blog look. Did you have someone do it for you?

I reread Fern Michaels Weekend Warriors, Sisterhood Series. Still need to read the last of them and hope to get some for Christmas.
I also reread my Christmas books and try to get at least 2-3 new each yr.

I keep only hardcovers. I think they're beautiful and I know years later I will revisit them or share them with a friend or family member. But you're right, I haven't reread much lately. I did read New Moon like 4 times :)

I was thinking about this the other day....
I used to reread all the time, now I just don't have the time and there are so many other great books out there!
Also, what do I do with them? I mean, most of them I paid money for, I can't just throw them out, and I hate the idea of someone buying it from me for $0.25!!
Plus, I do have a dream...I want one of THOSE libraries one day. You know? The dark wood, the two story with the sliding ladder?
One day.

There are a number I've reread, many of them classics that I will continue to reread (all of Austen, Anne of Green Gables, etc). I've also reread Wicked, The Perks of Being a Wallflower (multiple times, most of them aloud for a Banned Books Week readathon...), various Tamora Pierce books -- lots and lots. Like Natasha up there, I have less time to reread, in large part due to blogging, and just owning a lot of books. There's a guilty feeling rereading something when I could be "checking something new off the list" you know?

I used to reread books a lot more prior to becoming a book blogger. Now I feel like I barely have time to read all the new books. However, I do make time to reread previous books in a series when a new one comes out.

I do reread sometimes, but like you said there are just so many new things coming out that I'd love to read too. Right now, all of my books are packed except for about 10 (it's such a tragedy!) so I've taken to rereading more than I used to and borrowing from friends/libraries a lot more as well.
